SaveHeart Stories Newsletter: Volume I

An Introductory Note from Dave Fritzsche

Hello friends,

Thanks for being part of the SaveHeart by HeartNation community, and welcome to the inaugural SaveHeart Stories newsletter! We’re grateful that you’re here….

Like you, we are incredibly inspired and excited by the increased collaboration by so many people and organizations that seek to eliminate unnecessary SCA death. We’re grateful to work with you in this lifesaving industry and ongoing endeavor.

SaveHeart Stories will share new, relevant, and exciting information about Sudden Cardiac Arrest, AEDs, CPR/AED training, community heart screening events, legislative efforts, and the latest developments around extending lifesaving AED capabilities outdoors in highly visible, all-weather, temperature-controlled, and smart-monitored AED cabinets. Each month, we’ll send out new SaveHeart Stories that highlight SCA survivors, heroic professional and ‘lay’ first responders, and best practice school and community AED programs. The goal is to strengthen our respective professional and personal lifesaving communities, as we share lessons learned and celebrate progress along the way.

From all of us at SaveHeart by HeartNation, thank you for all that you do to improve SCA outcomes and save more lives. Please let us know if you have other ideas, stories, questions, or comments to share that can help save more hearts and build a stronger heart nation!

Sincerely,

Dave Fritzsche,
Founder, SaveHeart by HeartNation

SaveHeart by HeartNation is honored to be Loyola’s partner in expanding its Outdoor AED program, which includes Hoerster Field at Sachs Stadium and the Munz Athletic Campus, a 60-acre athletic facility in Glenview, IL. Congratulations to Loyola Academy….You’re ahead of the game!

A conversation with Matt Mangine

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a silent killer. It strikes when we least expect it. On the latest episode of the SaveHeart Stories Podcast, we talk with Matt Mangine, founder of The Matthew Mangine Jr “One Shot” Foundation.

One day, Matt’s son Matthew went to soccer practice. He never came home. That is a tragedy that might be unimaginable for most. But it happens. Here on SaveHeart Stories, Matt talks about what he and his family did next to raise awareness about Sudden Cardiac Arrest and the need for more access to AED devices.
