News to Use in the Fight Against Sudden Cardiac Arrest
Hello friends,
Fall is my favorite season. Kids are back in school, the weather is especially beautiful, and a refreshing sense of anticipation and change is in the air. So, it’s a perfect time for us to share some exciting news with you….
SaveHeart by HeartNation has officially introduced GEN2, our next generation of outdoor AED cabinets. While we’ve been at work on this for years and started manufacturing updated cabinets in January, sharing the news now lets us highlight numerous GEN2 community and school deployments around the country. A growing list of customers, distributors and not-for-profit partners have embraced GEN2, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
Here’s a link to our SaveHeart Stories blog with all of the exciting details and updates.
This isn’t just a new product launch. It’s a continuation of our mission to utilize innovation, technology, and partnership to make lifesaving AED access available 24/7, right where it’s needed most. GEN2 is about faster response, stronger community involvement and pride, and greater peace of mind.
Why does this matter? Because sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) doesn’t wait. It strikes without warning wherever life happens – parks, schools, athletic fields, concerts, village squares and main streets. GEN2 was built for these places – and everywhere we gather outdoors, with smarter monitoring, brighter visibility, and real-world design that makes it easier than ever for ordinary people, like you and me, to respond in extraordinary moments.
We’re more excited than ever to help save lives where you live, work, and play. If you’d like to learn more or see SaveHeart GEN2 cabinets in your community, please let us know.
Most of all, thanks for being a part of the SaveHeart by HeartNation community.

HeartNation Happenings…
Delaware requires AEDs, CPR/AED/First Aid Training, and Emergency Action Plans at Every High School
Across the country, momentum is building for stronger emergency readiness in our schools. Now, the state of Delaware has just taken a major step forward.
With the passage of House Bill 71, every coach will now be trained in CPR, first aid, and AED use. The law also requires every school athletic program to have an Emergency Action Plan, ensures AEDs are present and accessible at events, and mandates that devices are properly maintained and registered with the state.
This is the kind of progress that saves lives. By making safety a priority on the sidelines, Delaware’s leaders are setting an example. We applaud their commitment to student athletes and their families, and celebrate this growing national movement to make schools and communities better prepared when every second counts.
October 6 -11 is National Youth Sports Week

National Youth Sports Week is a chance to spotlight youth sports and the benefits of participation at all ages. It also reminds us that while sports build confidence and belonging, safety must come first. Families deserve peace of mind knowing AEDs and emergency plans are in place. Together, we can keep youth sports fun—and safe.
SaveHeart by HeartNation in the News

The Porter County Health Department in Indiana, through support from the Zac Mago Foundation, is making its county safer across the map.
Outdoor, climate-controlled, 24/7 SaveHeart AED cabinets have now been placed at Valparaiso’s Central Park Plaza and Fairgrounds Park, and Thomas Centennial Park in Chesterton, with new units coming soon to Founders Square in Portage and other locations. This is where Porter County residents come together outside—farmers’ markets, concerts, playgrounds, splash pads, skating, and community events. Now, if Sudden Cardiac Arrest strikes, lifesaving technology and help is always within reach.
Huge thanks to everyone who made this happen —the Zac Mago Foundation, Porter County Health Department, the City of Valparaiso Fire Department, Valpo Parks & Recreation, Town of Chesterton, Chesterton Fire Department, and Chesterton Parks and Recreation. Every installation helps protect residents and all who use these beautiful facilities from the nation’s largest cause of natural death, SCA.
We’re proud to stand alongside Porter County as they work toward becoming a nationally recognized HEARTSafe community.

SaveHeart Stories Episode #5
Preventing Preventable Death: A Conversation with George Laman
Some stories carry both deep pain and unstoppable purpose. When sudden cardiac arrest claimed the life of his daughter, Lauren at just 18, George Laman could have been crushed by grief alone.
Instead, he chose to fight back against the silence and inaction that cost her life. His journey since has been one of advocacy, persistence, and a father’s unbreakable promise to make sure other families don’t experience the same preventable loss.
In this episode of SaveHeart Stories, we talk with George, a U.S. Navy veteran, longtime fire chief, and now tireless advocate for widespread AED deployment, CPR training, and youth heart
screenings. George shares Lauren’s vibrant life and the lessons learned from her heartbreaking death, including the absence of a clear emergency response plan, the lack of an immediately available and accessible AED, and the need for available youth heart screenings.
That heartbreaking day became the defining moment that turned his grief into action, and ultimately into impactful, lifesaving legislation.
