SaveHeart by HeartNation Gen2 Outdoor AED Cabinets

Technology & Innovation That Puts You First

At SaveHeart by HeartNation, we believe “good enough” is never good enough, especially when lives are at stake. That’s why we developed SaveHeart GEN2, a new line of American-made AED cabinets with an enhanced real-world design that offers significant improvements to combat sudden cardiac arrest emergencies.

The statistics aren’t pretty.  Every minute, someone in the U.S. experiences out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest, and tragically, less than 10% survive. Yet survival rates can soar to over 70% when CPR and an AED are used within three minutes. The problem is that professional responders, as heroic as they are, take on average 8-12 minutes to arrive on scene.  This is simply too late for most SCA victims.

This is the urgency that SaveHeart by HeartNation has always addressed.  Our goal remains to put more AEDs in more places- with a pre-eminent focus on outdoor deployment- and empower lay responders to act immediately in the critical minutes after an SCA emergency before professional first responders arrive.

Whats New with Gen2 and Why Does it Matter?

Larger Backlit-Top = Greater Visibility = Quicker Response

We replaced our smaller laser-cut backlit top with large, highly visible,

illuminated panels that can be seen from every direction.  Front and back and side to side, SaveHeart Gen2 cabinets show large, bold, clear letters notifying everyone that a lifesaving public access AED is inside and accessible 24×7, ready for use if emergency strikes.

Why: SCA Survival is a race against time.  SaveHeart’s GEN2 cabinets are easier to see in an emergency, no matter the conditions- day or night, rain or shine.  Increased visibility, in conjunction with real-time monitoring and alerts, accelerates coordination and response when seconds can mean the difference between life and death.

Enhanced and More Extensive Customization Options

In addition to significantly improved visibility, our larger, illuminated top allows for graphic flexibility without any changes to the main unit.

For instance, Talbot County MD, designated their  outdoor cardiac arrest response program as Talbot CARES (short for Cardiac Arrest Resuscitation Station).  Highlighting a widely known and well-respected program name like Talbot CARES on their outdoor AED stations raises awareness and fosters community pride. “All politics is local,” as the saying goes.  Well, we believe the same is true for cardiac arrest.  The most effective lifesaving response must have a local focus- and may even have a local name. SaveHeart GEN2 cabinets can put it in lights.

GEN2’s unique design and SaveHeart’s ‘free’ digital decal mock-ups also allow local schools, organization, towns, and program sponsors to ‘see’ see what their life-saving AED cabinet looks like up front, building community momentum and goodwill.

Why: AED cabinets don’t just save lives.  They can also rally community pride and showcase sponsors who help make them possible.

Sleeker, Softer, Real-World Design Supports a Platform for Product Advancement and Future Innovation

GEN2’s straighter, roomier, non-tapered base allows for enhanced product development, including the addition of a lower cabinet, separate from the main AED cabinet to house other lifesaving items such as flotation devices, bleeding control kits, opioid overdose kits, first aid items, and the like.  This new design also allows space for future development of self-powered units (i.e. Solar), with space for multiple battery options.

Why: Our GEN2 design allows us to keep and expand our commitment to continuous improvement and product innovation to save more lives, and we are actively working on several exciting future developments.

Easier Installation, Upgraded Support and Online AED Management

All SaveHeart cabinets come pre-wired with a waterproof junction box, a safe extra-low voltage converter, and a rechargeable backup battery.  Monitored cabinets include a pre-installed SIM card for continuous, automatic monitoring of AED and cabinet status and readiness and related alert communications.

Our upgraded installation guides include detailed step by step instructions and illustrative pictures for every

single make & model AED on the market, and their corresponding monitoring sensors that connect to the cabinet.

We’ve taken a more hands-on approach to train customers on the intuitive, online AIVIA Net portal.  Customers can easily access, view, and manage their AEDs and cabinets, which provides real-time visibility and historical records for all program aspects.

Why: Upgraded installation support means You get faster installation, fewer headaches, and the peace of mind that your AED will stay powered up, even when the lights go down.  And whether you’re responsible for one AED or a network across an entire county or school system, you’ll have more control and clearer insights at your fingertips.

Smart 24×7 AED Monitoring: the Gold Standard for Outdoor AED Programs

SaveHeart cabinets provide 24/7 monitoring of system power, cellular connection, cabinet temperature, and AED presence & operational status.  They are also equipped with advanced sensors that ensure the lifesaving AED inside is always ready.  And an imbedded security camera snaps rapid photos when the cabinet door is opened, or the AED is removed.  Emergency alerts are sent immediately via text, while maintenance alerts are sent via email.

Why: 24×7 monitoring of your AED outdoor program gives you the confidence and peace of mind that your lifesaving device will be ready- day or night, during ‘normal’ hours or after hours, rain or shine.  SaveHeart’s integrated system of AED & cabinet monitoring and real-time alert communications accelerates coordination and response during a cardiac emergency.

Temperature Regulated, All-Weather Protection

SaveHeart cabinets can withstand almost any weather that mother nature throws at them.  Built-in ventilation systems move hot air out of the cabinet during warmer days, and integrated heating elements maintain the AED’s optimal temperature in colder conditions.  The protective enclosure  safeguards against moisture, temperature swings and environmental exposure—common culprits that degrade batteries, damage electrodes or compromise emergency functionality.  And the protective enclosure is treated to minimize greenhouse effect.

Why: Harsh environments shouldn’t’ compromise lifesaving equipment or capabilities. SaveHeart cabinets gives you the confidence that your lifesaving AED maintains optimal performance in every season and environment.  And, if the power goes out or  temperatures continually exceed manufacturer requirements for a prolonged period of time, it will send you immediate and ongoing alert notifications.

Proudly Made in the USA: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, and Always

SaveHeart cabinets have always been manufactured in the USA- and always will be.  Our customers like the fact that our cabinets are made in the Midwest at a centrally located, cutting-edge, 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility.  More than simply being a point of pride, they also know that they’re using the latest technology, supported by a cost-effective supply chain, and backed by American-made quality and craftsmanship from a company that they can rely on and trust.

Why We Invested in Gen2

What began as a simple idea – to extend the lifesaving capabilities of AEDs by placing them outside wherever people congregate- has become a model for how communities can ‘change the game’ in the fight against sudden cardiac arrest.  We invested in SaveHeart GEN2 because we believe that designing a new, expanded, technology-enabled cabinet solution can help redefine the conditions for emergency response.

Working with local communities, we believe that they can help provide an exciting new answer to an age-old problem: how to dramatically improve survival rates from the serial killer and health epidemic known as out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest.
